Notice of Race published

The Notice of Race for the Garmin ORC World Championship 2027 has been published. It sets out the rules, classes, schedule and entry procedure for the championship, which Kongelig Dansk Yachtklub (KDY) hosts from 6 to 14 August 2027 at Skovshoved Havn, just north of Copenhagen.

The Notice of Race is the key document for every team planning to race. We recommend that owners, skippers and team managers read it in full before entering.

Four ORC classes on Øresund

The championship is raced under ORC rating in four classes: ORC 0, ORC A, ORC B and ORC C. Racing takes place on the open water of Øresund, the Sound between Denmark and Sweden, with a mix of windward-leeward courses, coastal racing and offshore races — shifting breeze, current and big-fleet tactics, minutes from the harbour.

The race week

Eight races are scheduled: two offshore races and six inshore races. Offshore race scores cannot be discarded. When five or more inshore races have been completed, each boat’s worst inshore score is discarded. Start times will follow in the Sailing Instructions.
